I'm here

Here I am, making my very first post on this cool blog I received as a birthday present from Jeff & Catherine :) For my birthday, Jeff said he would make a blog for me (which I really wanted), and after asking me what types of things I wanted to do with it, worked at creating just the kind of blog I want. I wanted certain features in it, but I wanted to be able to use them myself without needing to learn to code, lol, or have an administrator do it for me (that being Jeff). Then he had me pick out the style. He made it simple for me using Drupal 5.2 and something called Moveable Type. Soooooo, here it is!

He said there is something else he still needs to add, being able to add photos to my posts. So I hope to be sharing about books I'm reading, write various reviews, things I'm thinking about, what's going on, etc. Oh, and there will be a place for comments as well. So, friends and family, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

Cindi: I love the layout and colors you chose to use for your new blog. So very different from what I expected when you told me Jeff was creating a blog for you. It took me by surprise. It's very "inviting" and makes me (who has very little free time) want to make time to see what you have to say.

Well done Jeff! Have fun Cindi in your new adventure.

Joyce

Joyce, I'm so glad you stopped by to check it out! I agree he did a good job! I love the colors, the things I'm able to do on it, and everything. And maybe I'll be able to bring out some of that "colorful inner-life" to put on it lol!

Well, now! Looks like you're ready to rock with your bloggy self. Glad you like the new digs. :-) It was good talking to you earlier -- the site I mentioned to you was http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/left_behind/index.html ... it's sometimes-angry, sometimes-funny, but definitely a fascinating analysis of the books from the perspective of someone who knows some theology and can make more sense of it than most other secular journalists.

Yes, I'm really enjoying this, and the look and feel of the whole thing : )  Thank you so much! Yeah, it was good talking to you, too. I checked out the site, but didn't get that far reading it, as I never really wanted to read the books themselves. Maybe they should make a "slacktivist cliffnotes" lol! My question on the books, or anything else, is where or what does it point to, like where does our focus end up. How does it affect the way we see God, ourselves, and the people around us? Does it cause us to love others more, or hate. Does it cause us to be more giving or more selfish?  Know what I mean?
